Brock Lesnar will make his UFC debut against a former UFC heavyweight champion.

The 2000 NCAA heavyweight champion and former WWE superstar Lesnar will take on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt Frank Mir at UFC 81 on Super Bowl weekend, the UFC confirmed Monday.

Mir has fought eleven times inside the UFC octagon and has compiled an overall record of 10-3. He won the UFC heavyweight championship at UFC 48 when he broke Tim Sylvia's arm with an armbar.

But while Lesnar, 1-0, may not come close to matching Mir’s MMA experience, Lesnar is no stranger to contact sports. Lesnar is a four-time All American and two-time Big Ten champion who completed his collegiate wrestling career with a record of 106-5. He also had a short pre-season stint with the Minnesota Vikings,

After being courted by K-1, Lesnar began his MMA training in June 2006 at the Minnesota Martial Arts Academy, the home of current UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk and current BodogFight welterweight champion Nick Thompson. Lesnar won his MMA debut a year later, forcing Min Soo Kim to tap out due to strikes in sixty-nine seconds at K-1 Dynamite!! USA.

UFC 81 will take place February 2 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
